LangBot is a self-hosted AI agent platform for teams that want bots in the messaging apps their customers, coworkers or communities already use. It connects Slack, Discord, Telegram, WeChat and other chat services to models and AI workflows, with a browser dashboard for managing bots across platforms.
The platform is open source under Apache 2.0. You can run it on your own server or use the hosted LangBot Cloud service. Ollama and LM Studio provide local model backends; OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and DeepSeek are also supported. Self-hosting keeps the bot platform on your infrastructure, while cloud model connections send requests to the chosen provider and messaging still passes through the connected chat service.
Bots can hold multi-turn conversations, call tools and answer questions using document knowledge bases. LangBot has built-in document retrieval and connects to Dify and RAGFlow for external knowledge bases. Dify, n8n and Langflow integrations let teams bring existing AI workflows into chat.
Agents can run code and work with files in an isolated sandbox, with control over which tools they can use. The same agent can serve multiple bots and chats. Plugins, skills and MCP servers extend its capabilities, including web search and scheduled group-chat summaries.
For shared administration, teammates use individual accounts with role-based access. Access controls, rate limits and session isolation govern bot use. Conversation records and model-call logs support review, and teams can export messages, usage logs and user feedback as CSV.
