OpenClaw.NET is a self-hosted AI agent runtime for people who want a personal assistant on their machine or a shared gateway for a team. Its C# and .NET foundation lets developers extend the assistant with their own tools. It's an independent implementation inspired by OpenClaw, with support for compatible parts of that ecosystem.
AgentQi Companion provides desktop chat, activity, memory and conversation history on Windows, Apple Silicon macOS and Linux. Browser chat and administration are also available. The runtime is open source under the MIT license.
Model choice determines where inference happens. Ollama connects the runtime to a local model server; OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Azure OpenAI and DeepSeek provide hosted inference. The gateway can run on your own hardware while a hosted provider processes model requests. OpenAI-compatible providers are supported too.
Agents can use tools for files, databases, email, web access and home automation. Messaging adapters include Telegram, WhatsApp, Teams, Slack and Discord. MCP servers, interactive MCP Apps and reusable skill packages extend what an agent can do, alongside supported OpenClaw JavaScript and TypeScript plugins.
For ongoing work, the runtime supports recurring prompts, continued goals and optional durable workflows. Optional project memory supports review, handoff and resuming work, with writes requiring opt-in. Tool approvals and audit exports help users review agent actions. The core gateway and API support NativeAOT deployment; dynamically loaded .NET plugins require JIT execution.
