Pathrule gives AI coding agents project knowledge that stays attached to the relevant workspace and file paths. Memories, rules and skills can follow a repository across agents and sessions, so developers can retain decisions and constraints without pasting the same instructions into each conversation.

The Apache 2.0 local core runs as a CLI and MCP service on macOS, Windows and Linux. It stores knowledge in an embedded SQLite database and works offline without an account or external infrastructure. Install the CLI, initialize a local workspace, then wire its MCP configuration and hooks into your coding client.

When an agent works on a path, Pathrule retrieves the applicable knowledge and delivers it before the tool call. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf and other MCP clients can use the same context. Memories, explicit rules and reusable skills remain inspectable rather than disappearing with a chat session.

The broader product also offers macOS Studio, which provides an agent workspace and interface to persistent intelligence. Studio, shared team features and hosted services are separate from the standalone local core. Optional external AI providers send requests to the chosen provider; connected coding agents retain their own data boundaries.
