This beginner lesson covers ON1 Photo RAW 2026's Browse and Edit workspaces. The presenter starts with photos stored on an internal or external drive and shows how to navigate to their folder without importing them into a catalog. His example uses a Mac, with brief references to Windows drive navigation. He filters a folder of 664 images down to six yellow-tagged selections, then applies creator and copyright metadata across the selected files.
In Edit, he demonstrates Brilliant AI's amount slider and adjusts contrast and saturation afterward. He introduces No Noise AI for noise reduction, shows lens correction and uses an AI crop suggestion with a 5-by-7 aspect ratio. These are introductory demonstrations rather than detailed editing techniques or performance tests.
The masking example separates a goose from its background so each can receive different exposure adjustments. A subtractive gradient refines the background mask. The presenter then applies Color Enhancer, Sunshine and Glow filters, using opacity to reduce an effect's strength.
The export walkthrough saves a JPEG at quality 80 through Quick Export, a method he says works with one photo at a time. He explains that the exported image contains the rendered edits; reopening the original retains access to the adjustment controls. He also cautions that masking behaves differently in Effects and Local Adjustments.
