Atlas Note
Self-hosted AI note manager with semantic search and cited answers. Runs in Docker, supports Ollama and OpenAI-compatible APIs, and uses the MIT license.
Atlas Note combines a self-hosted note library with AI search and answers that cite your notes. It's for people keeping meeting records, project notes or personal reference material who want to find related information without remembering exact wording. The browser interface runs on your own Docker-hosted server, and the project is open source under the MIT license.
Notes live in PostgreSQL on your server. Ollama can handle local models and embeddings; OpenAI-compatible APIs and Azure OpenAI are alternatives that send AI requests to the chosen provider. Sign-in uses a GitHub or Google account, so local model support doesn't make the whole app independent of external services. Each user has separate data and model settings.
The Markdown editor includes autosave, tags, nested sections and restorable version history. AI tools can revise text, summarize notes, build wiki pages from a section and suggest links to related material. An interactive knowledge graph shows connections between notes and extracted entities such as people and projects.
For meeting notes, Atlas Note can extract decisions and follow-ups, then suggest tasks linked to their source note. Tasks have priorities, due dates and reminders; suggestions skip duplicates and dismissed items. Daily briefings and periodic reports draw on your saved work.
Its MCP server lets assistants such as GitHub Copilot search and edit notes or manage tasks. Text imports can use AI categorization, while Markdown exports, section ZIP files and automatic per-user backups provide ways to copy and restore your data.
