Hermes Browser Extension brings your existing Hermes Agent into a browser side panel so you can ask about pages, selected text and open tabs. It's for people who want their local or self-hosted agent available while browsing, with the models, memory, skills and MCP servers they've already connected to Hermes. The extension is open source under the MIT license and requires a working Hermes Agent.
Local connections send context to Hermes on your machine; remote API connections send it to your self-hosted server. Model requests use the provider configured in Hermes. Hermes Cloud requires a signed-in agent tab and supports chat only, without receiving page text, selected text, tab context or attachments.
The active tab supplies context by default. You can include other tabs, pin a conversation to one page, or turn page context off. A receipt shows what Hermes received, and the extension removes credential-bearing URLs from prompt context. Page annotations let you attach notes to specific elements for more focused feedback.
Hermes Assist drafts replies and posts beside supported writing fields. You review the text before applying it, and it never submits a message or post. Bot Mode lets you switch agent profiles and resume their conversations; group chats require a Dashboard connection. You can also watch, steer or stop subagents during a task.
Chrome and Edge are the primary browser targets, with compatible Chromium browsers also supported. Firefox supports sidebar chat, streaming replies, attachments and page context.
