LobsterAI is an open-source desktop AI agent from NetEase Youdao, built on OpenClaw. It runs on macOS, including Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, and Windows. It's for people who want an assistant to work directly with their files, browser and local projects, with remote control through familiar chat apps.

Its office tools cover document writing, spreadsheet analysis, slide creation and PDF processing. It can turn local data into charts and HTML reports, compare batches of resumes or contracts, and build applications that run locally. Generated documents, code and media can be previewed inside the desktop app.

Scheduled tasks handle recurring work such as news digests, website checks and weekly reports. WeChat, WeCom, DingTalk and Feishu let you send requests from your phone and receive results while the agent works on your computer. Telegram and Discord are also supported.

You can create specialized agents with separate models, skills and workspaces. Expert Kits group capabilities for product, marketing and data work, while MCP connections let agents use external tools and data sources. Persistent memory carries writing preferences and project context across sessions.

The desktop app keeps conversations, configuration and memory on your machine. That local storage doesn't make every task offline: web research and messaging use external services. Sensitive file operations, terminal commands and network access require approval, and the app records tool actions for review. LobsterAI's code is available under the MIT license.
