MemOS gives AI agents long-term memory across conversations and tasks, with a choice of on-device storage, a self-hosted service or hosted cloud memory. It's for developers building assistants that remember user preferences, support history or lessons from earlier work. The project is open source under Apache 2.0.
The local plugin works with OpenClaw, Hermes Agent and DeepSeek Harness on macOS, Linux and Windows. It stores memory in SQLite on your machine without a cloud dependency for memory storage. It combines full-text and vector search to recall relevant context, removes duplicate memories and turns task experience into reusable skills. A local Memory Viewer lets you inspect what the agent has retained.
For applications and teams, the self-hosted service runs on your own machine or servers, including through Docker, with Neo4j and Qdrant. Its API handles adding, searching, editing and deleting memories. Graph-based memory remains inspectable and editable, and natural-language feedback can correct or replace stored information. It supports text and images alongside tool traces and personas. Separate knowledge bases let users, projects and agents keep memories isolated or share them selectively.
The hosted API stores data in MemOS Cloud and requires an account and API key. Cloud plugins for OpenClaw and DeepSeek Harness retrieve context before agent work and save new messages afterward. DeepSeek Harness can continue its current task if the cloud memory service is temporarily unavailable.

agentmemory is a self-hosted memory server for developers who want their coding agents to retain project decisions, past fixes and preferences across sessions. It captures activity through agent hooks and retrieves relevant context for later work. Multiple agents can share the same memory, so switching between Claude Code, Cursor and Codex CLI doesn't mean starting with an empty history.
ai-memory keeps project knowledge on a server you control so developers can switch coding assistants or machines without losing context. It connects Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and OpenCode to shared memory, including unfinished work, failed approaches and open questions.
Alfred Black is a self-hosted AI agent for solo business owners and consultants who need help with inbox triage, follow-ups, and keeping track of ongoing work. It runs continuously on a Linux server through Docker, with a web dashboard and conversations through Telegram, Slack, email, or web chat.
Bitterbot is a local-first personal AI agent for people who want an assistant that remembers ongoing projects and preferences across conversations. It runs on your own device or server, with a browser dashboard for chatting, reviewing memory activity and managing skills. It's open source under the MIT license.
Claude Mem gives coding assistants persistent project memory, so developers don't have to explain earlier decisions each time a session starts. It records agent activity, turns it into structured observations and summaries, and brings relevant context into later sessions. The free, open source engine runs on your machine under the Apache 2.0 license and doesn't require an account.
