Row-Bot is a local AI workspace for people who want an assistant to research, create documents and carry out tasks on their own computer. It runs on Windows, Apple Silicon macOS and Linux, and combines chat with persistent memory, tools and background workflows. It's free and open source under Apache 2.0, with no Row-Bot account required.
You can use Ollama or connect hosted models, including ChatGPT / Codex and Claude subscription providers, OpenRouter and private compatible endpoints. Local models and local tools can work entirely offline. Hosted models and networked tools need an internet connection and receive the context needed for the requests you send. Conversations, knowledge, profiles and project records stay on the host unless you deliberately send data elsewhere.
Its personal knowledge graph connects information across conversations and documents, retains source references and supports Obsidian-compatible wiki exports. For larger tasks, the assistant can delegate research or implementation to child agents and gather their results. Saved checkpoints preserve progress, while work budgets bound longer runs.
Scheduled workflows keep a run history for inspection. Browser automation, shell access, MCP integrations and optional Computer Use let the assistant work beyond chat; consequential actions pause for explicit approval. Creation tools cover editable pages, decks and mockups.
An authenticated browser can access the running host from another device. Invited browsers have owner authority; Row-Bot doesn't provide a standalone iOS or Android app.

Halo puts Claude Code and Codex in a visual desktop app for people who want AI agents to work with files, write code and handle recurring tasks. It runs on macOS, including Intel and Apple Silicon, Windows and Linux. The desktop app doesn't require a separate backend server. Model access uses Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepSeek or compatible APIs, so running the app locally doesn't make those services offline.
