UGTLive
An AI screen translator for Windows overlays translations using local LLMs or cloud services and requires an NVIDIA RTX GPU with at least 8 GB VRAM.
UGTLive translates text on your Windows screen for games, manga reading and language study. It places translations over the app you're viewing and requires an NVIDIA RTX 20, 30, 40 or 50 series GPU with at least 8 GB VRAM.
- Screen translation: Live mode translates screen content as it changes, while snapshot mode handles a single captured view.
- Dialogue context: Translation requests include text positions and earlier dialogue, giving the model context for dialogue blocks and menu choices.
- Translation style: Custom prompts let you request more literal wording for language study or change how characters speak.
- Manga and documents: The app supports vertical Japanese manga, spoken reading, and translation of PDF and CBZ files with local processing.
- Audio translation: Listen mode subtitles and translates system audio through OpenAI and requires an API key and an internet connection.
Screen recognition, translation and voices can run locally. Cloud translation is optional, with providers including Gemini, OpenAI, OpenRouter and Anthropic; those services receive the content they process. Claude, Codex and Gemini command-line backends are also supported.
Local processing keeps those tasks on your hardware, but the app checks online for updates at startup. Its overlay windows normally disappear from screenshots and remote captures; making them visible changes how the app captures and renders the screen.
