This tutorial walks through a self-hosted AFFiNE workspace on a Hostinger VPS. The presenter selects the KVM 2 plan with two CPU cores, 8 GB of RAM and 100 GB of storage, then opens Docker Manager in hPanel and deploys AFFiNE through its Compose one-click catalog. These are the resources used in the example, rather than stated minimum requirements. Hostinger sponsors the video; the presenter also says other VPS providers can host the open source version.
After deployment, the walkthrough covers creating an admin profile, adding team members and finding server settings. The AI settings accept your own API key. The tutorial shows where to configure it, but does not demonstrate AI output or establish that the AI features run on the server itself.
The workspace tour covers slash commands for note blocks, text formatting and a whiteboard with connectors, shapes and editable mind maps. The presenter also demonstrates presentation mode and explains the distinction between workspace preferences and system administration. Folders, templates and an application download round out the tour. He leaves AFFiNE Sync disabled for this demonstration and describes the VPS as the storage location instead of AFFiNE's cloud.
