This tutorial follows Aftershoot's photo culling workflow for a wedding shoot. The presenter imports a folder of raw photos, chooses the shoot type and starts selection. He reports that Aftershoot rated 2,600 images in 18 minutes; that timing describes his example rather than a general performance guarantee.
The walkthrough explains the color and star ratings: selected images are green with five stars, while the day's top images are blue with four. Duplicates receive three stars and yellow labels, blurry shots two stars and red labels, and closed-eye shots one star and purple labels. Grid view shows thumbnails alongside enlarged faces, with indicators for eye closure and focus. Inspection mode brings similar images together for review.
The presenter then checks duplicate groups in the larger image view. He demonstrates S to swap the selected image, A to add another choice, and X to remove an image's ratings and exclude it from selections. A final pass filters four- and five-star photos for delivery, or zero- through three-star photos to check potential discards before editing.
The speaker says classifications synchronize with Lightroom and Capture One, and describes changes flowing both ways between Lightroom and Aftershoot. He also briefly describes automatic retouching, but leaves that workflow for another video. Hardware requirements and processing location are not discussed.
