This comparison tests Voxium, iZotope RX 12 Dialogue Isolate, Acon Digital Extract Dialogue 2, Accentize dxRevive and Hush Mix on noisy speech. The speaker developed Voxium, so the listening judgments come from a manufacturer comparing his own plugin with competitors.

The tests use air-conditioner noise, cicadas and loud background music. Each plugin runs at maximum reduction to expose artifacts, a setting the speaker says he would usually avoid in practice. For the HVAC recording, he calls Voxium and RX 12 a close tie: he hears upper-frequency breathing in Voxium and low-frequency warble in RX 12. He dislikes what he describes as synthetic high frequencies in Hush.

The cicada test produces another close result between Voxium and RX 12. The speaker prefers Voxium's high frequencies but hears some remaining noise. He reports that Hush barely reduces the cicadas and that dxRevive lets them return with the voice. With music behind speech, he says RX 12 removes most drums, while Hush and Acon struggle. Trial-mode muting interrupts parts of the dxRevive test.

The workflow discussion describes Hush Mix as an offline, Pro Tools AudioSuite-only plugin. The speaker reports 960 samples of latency for Voxium and more than 4,000 for Acon, RX Dialogue Isolate and dxRevive. He closes by recommending demos on the viewer's own recordings and mentions PC and Mac installers for Voxium.
