Gary walks through a manual YuE2 music generation setup on Windows using audio.cpp, then connects it to a small Python interface supplied through his code portal. His paid turnkey installer is presented separately from this manual workflow. He describes the project as moderate to advanced and explains the terminal commands alongside the folder structure. The tutorial is for viewers who want to run models locally and adapt the command-line workflow for their own apps or bots.
The build uses Git to download audio.cpp and a PowerShell script to create a Windows CUDA release. Gary says this build requires Visual Studio Build Tools 2022 and that the 2019 version will fail. He also covers selecting the correct toolchain and clearing the build cache after an unsuccessful attempt.
The model setup downloads a Q8 GGUF file from Hugging Face, which Gary describes as about 4 GB, plus an F16 VAE and required sidecar files, including a tokenizer. He suggests Q4 if Q8 causes difficulties, with corresponding changes to the model paths in the generation command. Viewers using different folders or drive letters must update those paths.
The command-line example supplies lyrics, a country rock style and a seed before saving the song. The Python GUI adds lyric and style fields and a save dialog, but its configuration must point to the built executable and model directory. The example app does not play the result internally; users must find the saved song themselves. Gary presents further app and bot integration as possible extensions, rather than demonstrating a completed integration.
