Vidurai is a local AI memory service for developers who want their AI assistant to understand recent work without repeatedly explaining it. It tracks file changes, terminal activity and errors, then prepares a focused summary for an assistant. The background service and its stored development history stay on your machine.

Its main distinction is selective memory. Vidurai connects errors with recent commands and code changes, compresses repetitive history and removes low-value logs. This gives an assistant context about what led to a problem rather than an entire terminal transcript. You can pin important memories so the system retains them and review its forgetting history.

Vidurai connects to VS Code and Cursor through an editor extension, and exposes context to Claude Desktop and other tools through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Its browser extension works in Chrome and Firefox, with summaries you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or another AI text box. Vidurai processes context locally; when you share a summary with a hosted assistant, that summary goes to the service you choose.

The service stores searchable memories locally using SQLite and sqlite-vec, with Parquet archives for older material. Offline reinforcement learning helps decide which context to discard, and API-key redaction filters sensitive information. It can also import past AI conversations, recall project history and export memories as JSON or text.
