Auto Browser lets AI agents and human operators share a live Chromium browser, with a person able to take over when a login or fragile page needs attention. It's a self-hosted tool for internal dashboards, account workflows, and browser QA. The full stack runs on your own hardware through Docker Compose; Codespaces provides a hosted demo. It's open source under the MIT license.
Playwright powers browser actions, while noVNC gives operators access to the same session the agent is using. Saved auth profiles let later sessions reuse a login. Agents can inspect screenshots, page text and accessibility information, manage tabs, read downloads, and examine network activity.
MCP support connects it to Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Desktop. A REST API is also available. For model inference, it supports OpenAI, Claude and Gemini, plus OpenAI-compatible backends such as Ollama, vLLM and LM Studio. The browser stack and stored artifacts can stay on your machine; choosing a cloud model sends inference requests to that provider.
An operator dashboard shows actions awaiting approval, including the exact arguments for governed calls. Controls include operator identity checks, site allowlists and personal-data scrubbing. Signed Witness receipts let recipients verify exported audit evidence independently of the controller.
Sessions keep separate cookies and storage, but share a browser process and takeover desktop by default. Optional per-session Docker containers separate both the browser and the human takeover surface.

WeKnora is a self-hosted AI knowledge platform for teams that want to ask questions about their documents, use them in agent tasks and organize them into a wiki. These functions share the same knowledge base. It supports local inference through Ollama and offline deployments, with replaceable model, database and storage backends.
bb-browser lets AI agents work through your local Chrome browser using the website accounts you're already signed into. It's for people building agents that need to research across websites or interact with authenticated pages without a separate API integration for each service. The project is open source under the MIT license.
gptme is a self-hosted AI agent that works directly in your terminal, with access to your files and installed tools. It's for developers who want a coding assistant in their own environment, and people who want an agent for data analysis or other knowledge work. The software is free under the MIT license and doesn't require a gptme account.
Playwright MCP lets AI agents control a browser by reading structured page information rather than interpreting screenshots. It's for developers building browser automation, exploratory tests or agent workflows that need to keep a browser session open across repeated actions. The server runs locally on macOS, Windows and Linux, or as a self-hosted service.
QuickDesk is a remote desktop app with a built-in MCP server that lets AI agents operate other computers. It suits developers and administrators who want to automate desktop tasks across machines while watching the agent's actions and intervening when needed. It's open source under the MIT license.
