BrainSoup

BrainSoup is a proprietary native Windows app for people who want custom AI agents to handle work on their desktop. You can give agents distinct roles and access to different data, then have them collaborate in shared chat rooms. Natural-language conversations guide their tasks and automations.

The app supports local LLMs through a separately installed Ollama or LM Studio server, as well as services such as ChatGPT and Mistral AI. Its database stays on your device, and it doesn't use cloud storage. Choosing a cloud AI service sends requests to that provider; BrainSoup says it anonymizes those requests, separates them from your identity, and excludes them from model training.

Agents can draw on your documents and retain information from past conversations. That makes it possible to build an assistant around your own reference material rather than repeat the same context in each chat. The messaging-style interface includes search for finding earlier information.

Built-in tools let agents browse the web, send email, call APIs, run scripts, and generate or edit images and videos. Custom tools can connect them to programs and commands on your computer. Text files and scripts in any language provide a way to supply live data and respond to events without a proprietary scripting language.

BrainSoup also processes images and audio by letting language models collaborate with other models. A sandboxed file system provides a shared space for agents and users to work with files, while the built-in Doc-E assistant helps with automations and extension scripts.
