Cherry Studio is a free, open source desktop app for people who use several AI models and want their conversations in one place. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. Chats, settings and knowledge base files are stored on your device.
You can use local models through Ollama or LM Studio, including fully offline, or connect to cloud providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and DeepSeek. The app lets you switch models and compare their responses in the same workspace. Cloud models require an internet connection, while local model use can stay on your machine.
Cherry Studio goes beyond chat with agents that can plan tasks and call tools under your control. Its knowledge base draws on your documents and web pages, so you can ask questions about material you choose. It also handles images and Office files, generates images, translates text and includes ready-made assistants for common tasks. MCP server support connects agents to external tools and services. Local and WebDAV backup options cover conversations and other app data. The community edition is licensed under AGPL-3.0.
