Eclaire is a self-hosted AI assistant for notes, documents, photos, bookmarks and tasks. You can ask questions about saved material, inspect the sources behind an answer and ask the assistant to create notes or update tasks. Scheduled automations handle recurring requests such as a weekly task summary.
Document chat can help you find a passage, compare notes or understand a long manual. Choose an app that supports your file types and your preferred local model. Scanned PDFs may need OCR first, and extracting a document's text is different from understanding charts, images or complex tables.
Check whether both document indexing and answers use local models. Some apps have separate settings for embeddings, chat and optional online services. Ask for references to the original material and verify important conclusions against it; a fluent answer can still misread a source or omit relevant context.
