Noema is a private local AI assistant for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro. It's for people who want to chat with models and work with their own files on Apple hardware without depending on a cloud service. Local chats can stay on your device, and file retrieval runs there too.
The native app supports GGUF, MLX, Core ML, ExecuTorch, and Apple Foundation Models. It brings models, files, and tools into one workspace, with Mac projects for work that extends beyond a conversation. PDF reading and retrieval from your own datasets help ground answers in material you provide. Study tools sit alongside file search.
For tasks that need outside information, Noema can search the web, open supporting evidence, and let you inspect citations. It also connects to MCP tools. Chat Only, Agent, Plan, and Review modes give you different ways to approach a task while keeping permissions visible. Network access is optional and visibly controlled; Off-grid Mode blocks external HTTP and HTTPS connections.
Constellation lets you continue chats across Apple devices and sync projects and tool history. You can also use a model installed on an awake Mac from your iPhone or iPad. The model runs on the Mac, with only requests and replies sent between devices.
