BrowserSkill

Open-source browser automation connects AI agents to signed-in Chrome or Edge on macOS, Windows and Linux, without a mandatory cloud service.

BrowserSkill lets AI agents work in your existing Chrome or Microsoft Edge profile, with access to accounts you're already signed into. It's for people automating web tasks and developers investigating website bugs. Agents work in a separate visible window, and you can take over for login or verification.

The MIT-licensed tool runs locally through a CLI and browser extension on macOS, Windows and Linux. It works with shell-capable agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenClaw; you choose the agent and model. DeepSeek Harness has a dedicated plugin with browser tools and task previews.

Agents can read pages, fill forms, manage tabs and capture full-page screenshots. Local mode also supports file uploads and downloads. Existing tabs can be borrowed with confirmation and returned after a task ends.

For debugging, BrowserSkill links browser actions to network requests, response bodies, console output and page changes. It can inspect slow APIs and suspected duplicate requests, then test changes with request blocking, mock responses or replay. Debugging records stay in the browser profile and can be exported as JSON.

There's no mandatory cloud service or product telemetry. Results go to your chosen daemon or gateway and agent, whose service may retain them. The extension doesn't call an AI provider itself. A server-side agent can also connect to the browser on your computer over an authenticated connection; the browser and its logins remain on your machine, but remote mode doesn't support file transfers.
