Comfy Desktop installs and launches ComfyUI on your computer, taking care of the Python environment and dependencies. You can manage several independent ComfyUI instances, each with its own version, custom nodes and settings. It suits people who want to run local image and media workflows without setting up every environment by hand.
Inside each instance, ComfyUI uses a node-based editor to connect models and processing steps. The models and custom nodes you install determine which workflows you can run and how much memory they need. The desktop launcher supports Windows 10 or later, Linux, and macOS 13 or later on Apple Silicon.
The launcher requires at least 8 GB of RAM, with 16 GB recommended, and each standalone installation needs at least 4.85 GB of disk space. Model downloads need additional storage, and those launcher requirements do not guarantee that every generation model will fit your hardware.
Local ComfyUI workflows run on your machine. Comfy Cloud and partner API nodes are separate online options. The desktop source is available under AGPL-3.0-or-later or a commercial license from Comfy Org.
