What this page covers

localhosted uses cookies and browser storage for sign-in and features such as appearance preferences and search. Cookies are small values sent with requests; local storage stays in your browser until it is removed; session storage normally lasts for a browser tab's session.

The Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Sign-in cookies

Better Auth uses cookies to maintain your session and support authentication. Names can have a secure prefix in HTTPS environments.

• better-auth.session_token: identifies a signed-in session. The current library default is seven days; active sessions can be renewed.
• better-auth.session_data: a signed cache of session information, configured for five minutes.
• Temporary authentication cookies: may support provider redirects or other sign-in steps. Their lifetimes depend on the authentication flow.

Blocking or deleting sign-in cookies can sign you out or prevent account features from working.

Preferences and search storage

• theme: stores your light, dark or system appearance preference in local storage.
• search-palette-recents: stores recent search terms in local storage.
• search-palette-opened: stores recently opened search-result pages in local storage.
• search-palette-index:v…: stores a copy of the public search index. Copies older than seven days are ignored, but that is not an automatic deletion schedule; stored bytes may remain until replaced or cleared.
• Editor drafts: the administration content editor uses session storage to retain unsaved generated content for the relevant account and tool.

Appearance and search-history entries do not have a built-in time-based expiry. They remain until cleared, overwritten or removed by your browser. Search history is a browser feature, but queries can also reach the server while fetching results.

Analytics and advertising

Plausible is an optional analytics integration. Its standard script does not use analytics cookies or local storage; see Plausible's data policy. This does not make the whole website cookie-free: sign-in and other features have separate storage behavior.

When enabled, Revinel serves advertising and records impressions and clicks. Affiliate links may send you to merchants or services that use their own referral cookies or storage. Third-party practices are governed by their notices; a link from this site does not make their tracking necessary for your use of the directory.

YouTube and payments

Video pages load a YouTube privacy-enhanced player from youtube-nocookie.com. Loading the player contacts YouTube before playback; YouTube may process technical information and use device storage. Read the Google Privacy Policy.

Stripe checkout, Google sign-in, GitHub sign-in and other third-party pages have their own storage practices when you visit or use them. See Stripe's privacy policy, Google's privacy policy and GitHub's privacy statement.

Managing storage

Use your browser's site-data controls to inspect, block or delete cookies and storage for this site. Clearing localhosted's site data removes stored preferences and recent searches and may sign you out. It does not delete account records held on our server or data held independently by third parties.
