HyperResearch is a research agent for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex that produces cited reports and keeps sources for later questions. It's for researchers who want to review the evidence behind a report and reuse their collected material.

  • Report review: Critics examine drafts, and citation checks assess whether sources support the claims, verify quotations and flag unacknowledged retractions.
  • Independent evidence: The agent groups derivative coverage so copies of the same material don't count as separate evidence.
  • Scholarly search: Search OpenAlex, Crossref, CORE and DOAB alongside ClinicalTrials.gov, SEC EDGAR and FRED, with duplicate results removed by DOI and title.
  • Full-text recovery: It looks for legal open-access copies through Unpaywall, Europe PMC and CORE, and discloses substitutions or missing full text.
  • Reusable source vault: Sources stay in searchable Markdown files with a SQLite index; filters include DOI, venue and retraction status.

The local code is open source under the MIT license. Web research requires internet access. Claude Code uses Anthropic models; Codex uses the session's model unless an override is configured. A local vault doesn't make model inference offline. A hosted service provides the same research pipeline without a local Claude Code or Codex installation.

For paywalls you haven't logged into, full-text access depends on finding a legal open-access copy. If none exists, the vault note contains the abstract or records that the material couldn't be retrieved.
