BankMCP
A self-hosted MCP server gives AI assistants read-only access to European bank accounts through Enable Banking, with payment and balance alerts.

BankMCP connects an AI assistant to your own European bank accounts so you can ask about spending, balances and incoming payments. It's a self-hosted connector for one user, with read-only access: it can't make payments.
- Account queries: Read booked and available balances, transaction amounts, counterparties and descriptions, and give accounts recognizable names.
- Financial reviews: Built-in prompts help an assistant prepare monthly summaries, budgets, subscription reviews and checks for unusual transactions.
- Background alerts: Watch for balance thresholds, large debits, payments matching a name, or a payment that hasn't arrived by a chosen date; notifications go to Slack or an HTTPS webhook.
- Assistant connections: Standard MCP support connects the server to compatible clients such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.
The software is open source under MIT and runs on your computer or a server you control. There is no hosted BankMCP service. Bank access requires an internet connection and an Enable Banking account. Enable Banking's restricted mode permits access to your own accounts for individual non-commercial use. Background alerts rely on periodic checks rather than instant bank events.
Your server holds connection keys, bank consents and account identifiers, but doesn't store balances or transaction history and sends no telemetry. Requested bank data passes through Enable Banking's servers. Your assistant may retain that data in conversation history, and watch notifications send the matched transaction to your chosen destination.
