Luminar Neo is a photo editor for photographers who want automatic adjustments alongside manual control over their images. It combines tools for portraits and outdoor scenes with layers, masks and edits you can revise without altering the original.

  • Portrait and scene editing: Retouch skin and facial features, blur or replace backgrounds, swap skies and adjust lighting or atmospheric effects.
  • Generative edits: Use GenErase to remove distractions, GenSwap to replace objects and GenExpand to extend the image beyond its frame.
  • Image quality: Sharpen photos, reduce noise, enlarge images and restore old pictures.
  • Photo merging: Combine bracketed exposures into HDR images, stitch panoramas or stack shots taken at different focus distances.
  • Manual and batch editing: Combine photos and textures in layers, target adjustments with masks and apply presets or shared adjustments across a photoshoot.

It's paid software for macOS and Windows, available as a standalone app or a plugin for Photoshop and Lightroom Classic. It handles JPEG, PNG and TIFF, plus camera RAW formats including CR2, CR3, NEF, ORF and RAF. A Skylum account manages downloads and activations.

The desktop requirements include at least 8 GB of RAM, with 16 GB or more recommended. Windows also requires an OpenGL 3.3-compatible graphics card.
