MindFS is a self-hosted browser gateway to AI agents and project files on your workstation, for people who want to continue coding from another computer or phone. It requires an installed agent CLI and includes no AI model. With Claude Code's standard cloud connection, execution happens on your host while prompts and model context go to its remote provider. The installed agent handles model access; MindFS hosts browser access to its work.

It detects installed agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and OpenCode. You can switch agents or models within a conversation and see streaming replies, tool calls and permission requests. Supported CLI sessions can move between MindFS and the terminal, with search and saved session bindings helping you resume earlier work.

A task board breaks goals into dependent subtasks and coordinates parallel agents, giving each task a separate Git worktree. The file browser handles multiple projects, previews Markdown, code and images, and links files to the sessions that touched them. Agents can also create custom file views with buttons that send commands back to the agent.

Conversation history, file metadata and view settings stay on the host. Local network access needs no account, and direct access through Tailscale is supported. Optional public access uses the a9gent.com relay and requires an account, without opening firewall ports. Sessions and files can use end-to-end encryption.

MindFS is open source under AGPL-3.0 and runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. Its browser interface supports desktop and mobile use, including Android and PWA access.
