ReScript
A transcript-based video and audio editor that works offline in a browser or on macOS, Windows and Linux, with local Whisper transcription.

ReScript is a video and audio editor for people cutting interviews, podcasts and voice notes through text. Deleting words from a transcript removes the matching sections of the recording.
- Local transcription: Whisper Base or Whisper Small produces word timestamps on your device, with speaker labels to separate the conversation; you can also import SRT, VTT or JSON transcripts.
- Filler and pause removal: Separate actions cut filler words such as "um" and "uh", or remove silences and dead air.
- Timeline editing: A waveform timeline lets you split clips, refine cuts beyond word boundaries and correct inaccurate word timing, while preview playback skips removed sections.
- Media and transcript exports: Export edited video or audio, captions and transcript documents, with optional timestamps on documents.
- Editing app handoff: Timeline exports let you continue work in DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, Final Cut, Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper or Samplitude.
The same editor runs in a browser or as a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux. Transcription and media processing work offline, require no account and keep media files on your device. A Chromium browser is recommended. Transcription uses WebGPU when available and falls back to WebAssembly.
Anonymous usage statistics and crash reporting are enabled by default, and you can disable both. Crash reports go to Sentry and include a stack trace, app version and platform.
