Revornix is a self-hosted AI workspace for people who collect research, articles and meeting recordings and want to search or ask questions across them. It turns saved material into Markdown, connects it in a personal knowledge graph, and produces summaries, illustrated reports or two-voice podcasts.
You can host the stack on your own infrastructure, with documents and databases under your control, or use the hosted workspace. A browser interface and Electron desktop shell for macOS and Windows provide access. AI processing depends on your chosen providers: the default embedding service runs in the cloud, while local embedding is optional. It supports OpenAI-compatible providers, and you can choose separate engines for document conversion, embeddings, summaries, audio and illustrations.
The library accepts web pages, PDFs, Office documents, plain text and audio. Audio transcription includes speaker separation for meetings. Text and vector search work across private documents, while the assistant uses those documents and their relationships to answer questions. Milvus handles vector retrieval, and Neo4j stores the personal graph used by GraphRAG.
Collections can stay private, be shared with collaborators or appear on public pages. Automatic daily digests gather saved material, and notifications arrive through email, push or the app. The Markdown editor supports tables, Mermaid diagrams and math. MCP support lets the workspace use external tools and makes the library accessible to MCP-aware assistants; a public API, Python SDK and CLI also support automated collection.

Speakr is a self-hosted transcription and note-taking app for meetings, interviews and lectures. Its browser interface can record microphone and system or browser-tab audio, or accept existing files. The app runs on your server and supports Docker deployment.
Marginalia is a local-first AI research agent for people whose research papers, notes and working documents are scattered across different formats. It checks relevant passages in the original files before writing answers with citations. Your library stays in readable folders by default.
NoteGen is an AI note-taking app for people who collect meeting fragments, research material, and ideas before deciding how to organize them. It stores notes as ordinary Markdown files and keeps attachments locally. Capturing, browsing, and writing work offline, and the app doesn't require an account. It's open source under GPL-3.0, with Windows, macOS and Linux installers. Android and iOS builds are in early testing; iOS uses TestFlight.
Note Companion is an AI plugin for Obsidian that turns unprocessed notes and recordings into organized vault content. It's for researchers, students and people who collect meeting notes faster than they can sort them. The plugin runs in desktop Obsidian on Windows, macOS and Linux; it doesn't support Obsidian on mobile.
Open Notebook is a self-hosted alternative to Google's NotebookLM for researchers, students, and professionals who want AI help with their own research materials. It runs locally or on your server through Docker and is open source under the MIT license. You choose which content the AI can access and which provider processes it.
