Rivet is a desktop visual programming environment for developers building AI agents and applications with complex LLM workflows. Its editor runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, and its TypeScript library executes the resulting graphs inside your own application. The project uses the MIT license.
The visual graph shows how prompts and agent logic connect, so teams can inspect a workflow while developing it. Rivet also supports remote debugging: developers can watch graph execution in a running application and examine what happens along the chain. That makes the editor useful beyond the initial prototype, when the same workflow needs to run within a production application.
Graphs are YAML files that teams can keep in their existing repository and review through their usual code review tools. The runtime lets application code call a graph, and lets the graph call back into application code. This gives developers a visual place to work on agent behavior while retaining access to their application's existing functions.
Rivet integrates with OpenAI GPT models and Anthropic Claude, plus AssemblyAI LeMUR and speech transcription for audio workflows. It also supports OpenAI Embeddings and Pinecone for vector data. The editor and graph runtime run in your environment; these integrations connect workflows to external model and data services.

Bisheng is an open source, self-hosted platform for teams building AI applications around business documents and processes. Its visual workflow editor combines automated tasks with human feedback, including intervention during multi-turn conversations. It's suited to document review, support ticket assistance and report generation that need more control than a single chatbot exchange.
Dify is a source-available platform for teams building AI agents and apps on a visual canvas. Its Community Edition runs on your own server with Docker. Dify also offers a hosted cloud service, while Enterprise deployments can run in a VPC or on a self-hosted server. The Community Edition uses a custom Apache 2.0 derivative license.
Flowise is a visual builder for AI agents and chatbots that can run locally or on your own server, including through Docker. It's for developers and teams building LLM applications with connected workflow blocks. The project is archived and no longer maintained.
ChatDev is a self-hosted platform for building teams of AI agents through a visual workflow editor. It's for people who want agents to collaborate on research, data analysis or software projects without writing the orchestration code themselves. You define each agent's role and how information passes between them.
DocsGPT is an MIT-licensed, open-source platform for teams that want AI search, assistants and agents over their own documents. It can run on your servers with local models, including fully air-gapped deployments where documents and questions stay inside your network. Answers include the source title and page number so readers can check the evidence.
