smart:limit is a proprietary AI audio limiter plug-in for mixing and mastering on macOS and Windows. It analyzes a track and suggests limiting settings, with loudness and dynamics meters in the same interface. It's aimed at producers and engineers preparing audio for release who want help controlling peaks while retaining detail in the mix.
Genre profiles guide its suggested settings, or you can supply a reference track to target a particular limiting style. Automatic settings are optional: you can work manually or adjust the results after analysis.
The monitoring section measures integrated, short-term and momentary loudness, plus loudness range, true peak and gain reduction. It also tracks dynamics through the relationship between peaks and loudness. Visual targets and interactive Quality Check hints help you assess a track against streaming platform requirements and loudness standards. Instant Impact Prediction reflects parameter changes in the loudness readings without requiring another full playback of the track.
Sound controls cover soft or hard limiting, saturation, spectral balance and bass control. These let you adjust the track's character alongside its level, rather than treating the limiter solely as a peak ceiling.
It runs in a compatible DAW, with VST, VST3 and AAX formats on both platforms and AU on macOS. It supports mono, stereo and Dolby Surround 5.1 audio, runs natively on Apple Silicon, and requires 4 GB of RAM. Authorization is machine-based or through iLok.
