ToolJet is an internal-app builder for developers and operations teams creating dashboards, admin panels and business tools around existing data. It can run on your own infrastructure with Docker or Kubernetes, or through ToolJet Cloud. The community foundation uses AGPL-3.0; Enterprise features use separate commercial terms.

ToolJet AI belongs to the Enterprise edition. It generates pages, queries and components from natural-language descriptions, with AI query assistance and debugging. Generated apps remain editable in the visual builder. The MCP server also lets coding agents build and modify ToolJet apps with the permissions of the developer who connected them.

Data connections include PostgreSQL, MongoDB and ServiceNow, alongside REST and gRPC endpoints. ToolJet Database provides a PostgreSQL-backed table editor. Enterprise adds workflow automation with schedules and webhooks, an agent builder, reusable modules and development, staging and production environments.

Enterprise governance includes granular component and query permissions, audit logs, SSO and Git synchronization. These capabilities should not be assumed to be included in the community edition.

Self-hosting runs the app platform on your servers, but AI inference may still use external providers and your own API keys. Fully local AI requires the Self-hosted Enterprise AI gateway add-on and a supported local model.
