This tutorial uses Claude Code Router to connect Claude Code to Google's Gemma 4 31B through OpenRouter. The speaker checks OpenRouter activity to confirm which model handles requests after the chat reports a different model identity. He presents the model endpoint as free; the demonstration uses a hosted service rather than local inference.
The build starts with a Next.js project configured for Convex and Clerk. The speaker creates a Clerk application, adds a Convex JWT template and sets the issuer domain in the backend environment. He then asks the coding assistant to configure login, redirect authenticated users to /dashboard and create a user record in Convex. Antigravity is his chosen editor, but he says another IDE would work.
The first attempt needs repairs. A missing use client directive interrupts the app, and login initially fails to create the expected user record. After further prompts, the speaker reports successful user creation and an authenticated dashboard. He praises the basic implementation but finds the visual design weak.
For people who want to run models locally, he also suggests Ollama. He does not demonstrate that setup or establish hardware requirements, so his comments about laptop suitability are not a tested compatibility guide.
