This tutorial explains Excire Foto 2027's photo culling workflow using roughly 1,000 wedding images. Profiles control grouping, sorting, defect checks and automatic selection.
Groups can organize photos by people, content keywords, visual similarity, shooting date or burst sequences. For manual review, P marks a favorite and X marks a rejection. The presenter also shows how to adjust grouping settings after creating a project.
Face enlargements and focus indicators help assess portraits, while a 3×3 grid supports composition checks. Focus peaking colors the areas most in focus and has an adjustable threshold. The presenter cautions that its usefulness depends on the subject: it helps locate focus but may be less useful for judging overall image sharpness.
Sorting criteria include overall sharpness, eye sharpness, facial expression and aesthetics. Smart Selection can combine criteria and choose a fixed number or percentage from each group. Defect checks flag blur, exposure problems and closed eyes. According to the presenter, selection applies flags, stars or color labels without destroying files, and users can review the results manually or run Smart Selection on an existing project.
