This tutorial connects OpenCode to OmniRoute, a locally running AI gateway that routes requests to connected providers. The presenter installs OmniRoute globally, starts version 3.8, and opens its dashboard on localhost port 2128. This setup runs the gateway locally; the demonstrated model access comes through providers rather than local inference.

The walkthrough creates an API key and connects Kiro using an AWS authorization flow. The presenter checks the authorization code, grants access, and tests GLM 5 in the dashboard. A second connection uses the OpenCode Free provider through the no-authentication filter. Claims about free access come from the presenter and do not establish unlimited usage.

To connect the coding assistant, the presenter asks OpenCode to edit its JSON configuration with an OmniRoute provider entry, base URL, API key, and automatic routing options. After restarting and refreshing the model list, OpenCode returns a response through the auto route. The tutorial also shows auto coding, auto fast, and auto cheap options.

The final section adds Claude Sonnet 4.5 as a specific model in the configuration, restarts OpenCode, and selects it through /model. The presenter recommends testing a model in OmniRoute before adding it: a Sonnet 5 entry returns an error in the demonstration, while Sonnet 4.5 responds successfully.
