Agents Observe

A self-hosted dashboard tracks Claude Code and Codex sessions with live tool activity, multi-agent replay and token usage stats stored locally.

Agents Observe is a self-hosted dashboard for developers who want to inspect what Claude Code and Codex do during coding sessions. It helps you follow parallel agents and trace the commands or edits behind an unexpected result.

  • Live tool activity: Watch commands, file reads and edits as they happen, with tool results and full event details available for inspection.
  • Agent hierarchy: See which parent spawned each subagent, alongside agent status and timing, to follow work across a multi-agent session.
  • Search and timelines: Filter events by agent or tool type, search the event history and jump from the timeline to a specific action.
  • Session replay: Browse saved sessions and replay their activity to review the sequence of events after a run ends.
  • Usage stats: Inspect token usage and cost breakdowns for a session.

The dashboard runs in a browser connected to a server on your machine. Docker hosts the server, and a standalone mode supports use outside the Claude Code plugin. The plugin requires Docker, Node.js and Bash. Agents Observe is open source under the MIT license; it stores captured events in a local SQLite database and keeps logs locally, with support for placing that data on an external volume.
