Hermes Agent

Hermes Agent is a self-hosted AI agent from Nous Research for people who want an assistant that remembers past work and develops reusable skills. It creates skills after complex tasks, revises them through use, and searches earlier conversations to recover context across sessions. The project is open source under the MIT license.
You can run the agent on your own computer or a server. It supports macOS, Linux and native Windows, plus Android through Termux. Tasks can run locally, in Docker, over SSH or in hosted environments such as Modal and Daytona. Model connections include OpenAI, OpenRouter, Nous Portal and your own endpoint; choosing a cloud provider sends model requests to that service.
Its terminal interface supports conversation history, streaming tool output and the ability to interrupt a task and redirect it. A messaging gateway connects it to Telegram, Discord, Slack, WhatsApp and Signal, with voice memo transcription and conversation continuity across platforms. Scheduled tasks can run unattended and deliver reports or other results through those channels.
For larger jobs, Hermes can delegate work to isolated subagents. Its memory system includes user modeling through Honcho, and its skills follow the agentskills.io standard. The optional Nous Portal service provides cloud models and tools for web search, image generation, speech and browser access.
Hermes can also import OpenClaw settings, memories, user-created skills and selected API keys.
