Inbox Zero is an AI email assistant you can self-host with Docker or use as a hosted service. It's for people handling busy Gmail, Google Workspace, or Microsoft Outlook inboxes who want help sorting mail and preparing replies. It works alongside your existing email client.
The assistant labels incoming messages using its default categories or categories you define. You can describe email rules in plain English, so its handling of messages follows your priorities. Reply drafts draw on your email history and calendar to match your tone and account for your availability; a CRM connection can add customer context.
Inbox cleanup includes bulk unsubscribing from mail you don't read, archiving older messages, and blocking cold emails. Email analytics show who sends you the most mail and help identify recurring clutter. Reply tracking separates messages that need your response from conversations where you're waiting for someone else.
You can manage mail through the web interface, iOS and Android apps, or chat with the assistant in Slack and Telegram. Meeting briefings use email and calendar context, and attachment filing can save files to Google Drive or OneDrive.
Self-hosting lets you run the application on your own server, while the hosted service runs it for you. Both work with connected Google or Microsoft email accounts. Inbox Zero states that it doesn't use your data for AI training.
