Kangaroo is a desktop SQL client and database administration app for developers and database administrators who work across different database systems. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and includes an AI assistant for help with database problems alongside its query and design tools.
It supports MariaDB, MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQLite and SQL Server. That coverage makes it worth considering if your work spans relational databases as well as MongoDB or Redis and you want one application for those connections. Its capabilities include writing queries, editing data and designing tables, with code completion available in the editor.
Beyond everyday queries, Kangaroo includes data modeling and database synchronization. Import and export tools handle data transfers, while its design features let you work on database structure within the same application you use to query and edit records. AI assistance is available across the supported database systems.
The desktop application uses GTK and Adwaita and is written in Vala. Kangaroo isn't open source; its public repository contains localization material and provides a place for user feedback.
