Modly is a desktop app for artists, game developers and people preparing models for 3D printing. It turns a photo or text prompt into a textured 3D mesh using AI models on your own GPU.
- Model choice: Choose Hunyuan3D 2 Mini, its Turbo and Fast variants, TripoSG or Trellis2 GGUF through model extensions to suit your priorities for speed and detail.
- Mesh preview and export: Inspect generated meshes and export GLB, OBJ, STL or PLY files for use in Blender, Unity, Unreal or a 3D printing workflow.
- Collections and mesh cleanup: Keep generated models in a persistent workspace, organize them into collections, and smooth or reduce the complexity of imported meshes.
- Custom workflows: Connect generation and processing steps in workflows, with external model and process extensions for adding your own tools.
- Script and agent access: A CLI lets scripts and AI agents control a running desktop app and receive machine-readable JSON results.
Modly is free and open source under the MIT license. It runs on Windows, Linux and Apple Silicon macOS. Generation works offline, and input images stay on your machine rather than being uploaded to a cloud service. The advertised GPU inference uses NVIDIA hardware.
