ChatDev is a self-hosted platform for building teams of AI agents through a visual workflow editor. It's for people who want agents to collaborate on research, data analysis or software projects without writing the orchestration code themselves. You define each agent's role and how information passes between them.
The application runs on macOS, Windows and Linux, including WSL, or through Docker Compose. Its browser console connects to a backend you run yourself. Model calls use your chosen LLM provider's API credentials and endpoint, so running ChatDev locally doesn't mean model processing stays on your machine: a cloud provider receives the requests sent to it. The project is open source under the Apache 2.0 license.
The visual canvas lets you arrange agents and adjust their interactions. During execution, the console shows live logs and intermediate outputs, and you can give feedback while a workflow runs. Workflows can accept attached files, such as datasets for chart generation.
Included templates cover data visualization, game development and deep research. For 3D generation, ChatDev works with Blender and blender-mcp. OpenClaw can call existing ChatDev agent teams or create new ones dynamically.
For developers who need automation beyond the console, the Python SDK runs workflows in batches and returns their results. YAML workflow definitions provide a reusable format, and the platform supports extensions with custom nodes, model providers and Python tools.
The documented setup requires Python 3.12 or later, Node.js 18 or later and uv.

Langflow is a visual builder for developers creating AI agents and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications. You can run it locally or on your own server, with Docker support and desktop apps for Windows and macOS. The open-source software uses the MIT license. A hosted cloud offering provides a separate deployment option.
RAGFlow is an Apache 2.0 licensed RAG engine for teams building AI agents that need to answer questions from their own documents. It can run on a self-hosted server through Docker on Windows, macOS or Linux. A separate hosted cloud service is available.
Sim is an AI agent workspace for teams that need to build automations and control how people use them across an organization. You can self-host it on your own server or cloud with Docker or Kubernetes. Its open-source code uses the Apache 2.0 license.
ComfyUI is a local visual AI workspace for artists and technical teams who want to control how images, video, audio, 3D models and text are made. Its node canvas shows each model and processing step, so users can build and adjust workflows without writing code. It runs on your hardware.
DB-GPT is a self-hosted AI data assistant for teams analyzing business data and developers building data applications. It turns plain-language requests into SQL queries and Python analysis, then produces charts, dashboards, or HTML reports. You can run it on macOS or Linux, with Docker deployment also supported.
