QualityScaler is a local AI upscaler for people who want to enlarge photographs and videos and reduce noise through a Windows desktop app. It processes media on your PC without an internet connection.

  • Image and video upscaling: Enlarge still images and videos, with support for formats including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP and HEIC, plus MP4, MKV, MOV, WebM and GIF.
  • Control over the result: Resize media before upscaling and blend the processed output with the original to adjust how much of the AI treatment appears in the final image or video.
  • Resumable video processing: Stop a video upscaling job and resume it later without starting over.
  • GPU support: Use compatible AMD, Intel or NVIDIA graphics hardware, including multiple GPUs. Automatic image tiling breaks large images into smaller sections to help manage GPU memory limits.

QualityScaler runs on Windows 10 and 11 and uses ONNX Runtime with DirectML. It requires a DirectX 12 compatible GPU with at least 4 GB of VRAM and 8 GB of system RAM. The app is open source under the MIT license.
