SilverBullet is a knowledge workspace for personal notes, shared wikis and project documentation. It keeps your writing in plain Markdown files and lets you build connections and collect information across pages.
- Linked notes. Wiki links, backlinks and an object graph help you follow relationships between pages and see where a note appears elsewhere.
- Queries and tasks. Query pages like a database to gather open tasks, tagged books or pending decisions into lists within your notes.
- Shared spaces. Teams can assign tasks with @mentions, discuss questions in comments and see edits as they happen.
- Lua customization. Space Lua lets you create custom commands, page templates, widgets and content generated from your notes.
- Docs as code. Keep documentation beside your code in a Git repository, review changes through pull requests and publish it as a site.
Desktop apps run on macOS, Windows and Linux, with spaces stored as folders on your computer. Desktop is free for personal use. The free, open-source Server runs as a self-hosted container and provides browser access, including on phones. The Server and sb CLI use the MIT license. Hosting providers can also run the Server for you, and Desktop can sync with any Server.
Notes work offline. Markdown files, images and PDFs stay in an ordinary folder on the disk you choose, so you can open them in other editors and use your own backup tools.
