Sebastian Benz demonstrates a Chrome extension workflow using Antigravity as a coding assistant, Modern Web Guidance and Chrome DevTools MCP. The workshop covers setup, browser testing and preparation for publication.
The setup enables extension tools in the MCP configuration and uses auto connect to attach to an existing Chrome instance. Benz explains that some built-in Chrome APIs are unavailable in the separate testing profile used by default. Connecting to the running browser requires enabling remote debugging and accepting a control permission dialog at the start of the session.
A Hello World popup checks the setup. Its first test opens the popup without verifying the extension icon interaction, so Benz requests that specific test. He then builds an autocomplete extension that inserts links to open tabs into text fields. He reviews the implementation plan and requests Markdown links with Shift+Enter. The demonstration tests text inputs, text areas and contenteditable fields.
Publication preparation produces listing text, permission justifications and a privacy policy draft. Benz warns that these need review because the agent can invent missing details, such as an email address. Finally, he adds Chrome's built-in Prompt API to suggest contextual link text. The first attempt appears unsuccessful; a later retry produces a better anchor. He proposes a loading indicator as a further improvement.
