Chatbox is a client for using several AI providers in one interface. This review explains bring-your-own-key access: users add provider API keys and pay those providers for token usage. The speaker argues that occasional use can cost less than several flat subscriptions, but gives no measured usage comparison to establish the savings.

The speaker says the community edition reopened under GPLv3 in April 2025 after a closed-source period, while the project's documentation recommends the closed official edition for broader functionality. That distinction matters when choosing Chatbox for open source auditability.
