Enconvo

Enconvo is a native AI assistant and agent for Mac that can use your screen and selected text as context, then work inside your apps. It's for people who want help with writing, research and everyday tasks alongside the app they're using. A sidebar keeps the agent beside the current app, while text selection tools give quick access to editing and translation.

Local models run fully offline through Ollama, LM Studio or MLX, including on-device speech recognition. In that mode, your data stays on your Mac. Online options include OpenAI, Anthropic and Google Gemini through your own API keys, plus access through existing ChatGPT, Claude or Grok subscriptions. The optional Enconvo Cloud service provides cloud models and services without your own API keys.

The agent can automate browser and computer tasks, search document knowledge bases, and use memory and app context. Voice features cover dictation, spoken commands, read-aloud output, meeting recording and live captions. Screenshot capture and OCR let it work with text visible on screen.

For repeatable work, a visual workflow editor combines tools, prompts and conditions into automations. MCP servers, plugins and custom skills extend what the agent can do. You can also send tasks through Telegram, Discord or Slack, or access Mac projects and chats from the paired iPhone app; those chats continue running on your Mac.

The app itself isn't open source, but its extensions are. It requires macOS 14 or later and supports Intel and Apple Silicon Macs.
