MS Agent is an open-source Python framework for developers building AI agents that carry out complex tasks over multiple sessions. Its browser workspace works with local projects, while terminal interfaces and a Python SDK share the same agent logic. It uses the Apache 2.0 license and supports OpenAI-compatible APIs, Anthropic and ModelScope.
The framework combines models, tools and reusable skills with controls for planning, permissions and execution feedback. Developers can add business rules and decide when an agent needs human intervention. The WebUI lets users chat with models, inspect tool activity, manage skills and MCP tools, and browse or edit project files.
Long-running work gets separate session history, active context and project memory. Agents can retain full records while shortening older context and trimming tool output, then reuse project knowledge in later tasks. Scheduling supports recurring and one-time jobs.
A lead agent can delegate work to specialists, or developers can define workflows with explicit stages and dependencies. Built-in applications include Agentic Insight for research reports tied to evidence, CodeGenesis for software projects checked with diagnostics and runtime feedback, and FinResearch for analysis using AkShare, BaoStock and web information.
DocResearch reads PDF, TXT, PPT and DOCX files and exports illustrated reports. Singularity Cinema coordinates scripts, narration and video composition. The Skill Evolution workflow tests revised skills against a validation set and accepts updates only when evaluation scores improve.

ChatDev is a self-hosted platform for building teams of AI agents through a visual workflow editor. It's for people who want agents to collaborate on research, data analysis or software projects without writing the orchestration code themselves. You define each agent's role and how information passes between them.

DeerFlow is an MIT-licensed AI agent framework for people who want to build and run agents on their own infrastructure. It combines subagents, memory and a Docker-based workspace to handle research, coding and content creation tasks that can take minutes or hours.
Exo Agent Framework is a self-hosted framework for developers building long-running AI agents that can revise their own code, tools and prompts. Its exoharness foundation keeps agent history and resources separate from the logic that decides what the agent does next. The project is open source under the MIT license.
II Agent is a self-hosted AI agent for developers and teams who want an assistant that can research a topic, write software and carry out tasks through a browser or shell. It's a Python framework with a web interface, released under Apache 2.0, so you can inspect, fork and extend the code.
OpenFang runs scheduled AI agents on your own machine, with built-in task packages called Hands that report results to a dashboard. It's for people who want recurring research, monitoring or business tasks to continue without prompting an agent each time. The open source platform runs on macOS, Windows and Linux under the Apache 2.0 license.
Project Orchestrator is a self-hosted coordination tool for developers working with multiple AI coding agents. It keeps code knowledge, development plans, and architectural decisions in a shared store so agents can reuse context across tasks and projects. It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, with desktop apps and Docker deployment available.
