Typebot

Typebot is a visual chatbot builder you can host on your own server or use through its managed cloud service. It's for businesses building conversational forms and chatbots for websites, mobile apps, and WhatsApp, with developers able to extend flows through APIs and JavaScript. The project uses Fair Source licensing.

The editor combines messages and user inputs with conditional branching, so a conversation can change based on someone's answers. Bots can show images, video, or audio and collect details through text fields, buttons, picture choices, date pickers, and file uploads. Stripe integration supports payments within a flow.

OpenAI integration adds AI responses to the builder. Webhooks and HTTP requests connect conversations to other services, while Google Sheets, Zapier, Make.com, and Chatwoot provide named integrations for handling data and follow-up work. Self-hosting runs Typebot on your server; the managed cloud service handles hosting, backups, and maintenance. OpenAI is a connected service, rather than a bundled local LLM runtime.

You can match a bot to your site's design with fonts, colors, backgrounds, and reusable themes, or use custom CSS for more control. Publish it on a custom domain or embed it as an inline conversation, popup, or chat bubble. The JavaScript embed doesn't use an iframe.

Typebot collects responses as conversations happen. Its analytics show completion and drop-off rates, and you can export results to CSV. A/B testing lets you compare different conversation paths.
