Vexa is a meeting bot and transcription API for developers building meeting features and teams feeding calls into AI agents. Bots join Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, then send live transcripts with speaker labels to your application or agent. You can host the full platform on your own infrastructure or use Vexa's cloud service.
Transcripts arrive over WebSocket within about four seconds of speech, and transcription follows language changes during a conversation. Vexa also captures meeting audio and transcribes recordings after a call. Interactive bots can listen and respond with text-to-speech, while a web dashboard lets teams manage bots, follow meetings and review transcripts.
REST and MCP access make meeting data available to tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and ChatGPT. The API can operate as a standalone transcription service. For teams that want a shared knowledge base, self-hosted agents can turn meetings into linked Markdown pages in a Git repository, prepare meeting briefs and update those pages after calls. These knowledge agents run only in self-hosted deployments.
Vexa is self-hostable under the Apache 2.0 license. Docker deployments run on macOS, Windows or Linux; server deployments support Kubernetes and OpenShift. Self-hosting keeps storage and meeting data on your infrastructure, with Postgres for transcript history, search and API exports. The hosted service runs meeting bots and transcription in Vexa's cloud. Agent integrations can use external services, including Claude through your own credentials.
