This beginner tutorial follows a Codex workflow for an AI newsletter business. The presenter installs the Mac app, walks through onboarding, and explains projects, chats and permissions. He uses GPT 5.5 with high reasoning effort and describes the differences between default sandbox access, auto review and full computer access.
The coding assistant first plans a green newsletter landing page with an email signup box and a call to action. After approving the plan, the presenter has Codex build the page and use browser access to take screenshots and test the signup button. A later prompt asks it to review the interface and copy, then make improvements.
The automation example schedules newsletter drafting for 9 a.m. every day and uses Run now to test the task. The presenter suggests a separate automation for sending the email, but the walkthrough focuses on generating the draft. With Google Drive connected, he also requests a marketing plan in a new Google Doc and reports a 12-page result.
The final task uses HeyGen HyperFrames to make a roughly 30-second motion graphics promo in the newsletter's colors, without a voiceover. The presenter reports that Codex spent 12 minutes creating and checking it. This is a desktop app and connector tutorial; it does not demonstrate how to run models locally or establish offline operation.
